    At the end of 2022, there were 172 rehabilitation treatment and medical rehabilitation organizations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, of which 109 were sanatoriums, 27 rehabilitation centers, 27 specialized sanatoriums and others, and 9 dispensaries.

    At the end of 2022, the number of doctors of sanatorium and resort organizations amounted to 602 people, including 418 women (69.4%). The number of paramedical personnel amounted to 2048 people, including women - 1888 (92.2%).

    The number of sanatorium beds at the end of 2022 amounted to 22,091 units, including 4,238 sanatorium beds for children.
    The number of people treated (rested) for the year amounted to 379,555 people, of which 228,395 were women, and 845 were non-residents.

    Glossary

    Bed-days spent – the number of permanent sanatorium beds used and the summation of the number of bed-days spent by all visitors. Services - activities aimed at meeting any needs of a person or society as a whole.

    Bed-day – the day when the placed bed is occupied by a person who has been treated (rested), who is on full (round-the-clock) inpatient treatment, from the day of admission and each subsequent day of stay in a sanatorium-resort organization, except for the days of discharge or transfer.
