The ratio of the volume of final waste disposed of to the total volume of waste generated in the country as a whole, by type of economic activity (industrial and municipal waste) and by harmful effects (hazardous waste) disposed by:
1) Reuse or recycling,

2) Placed in controlled and uncontrolled landfills,

3) Other types of deletion.

The indicator is formed in accordance with the "Methodology for the formation of environmental statistics indicators" approved by Order No. 223 of the Acting Chairman of the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2015.

The responsible state body for generating data on municipal waste is the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan based on annual statistical observations 1-waste «Report on the collection and export of municipal waste» and 2-waste «Report on the processing (sorting), utilization and disposal (depositing) of waste».

It is measured in thousands of tons.

The indicator allows you to measure the pressure on the environment and the degree of efficiency of the waste management system (response).
