Introduction
The Multi-Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is an international household survey program developed by UNICEF. The MICS survey is conducted to collect key indicators that are used to assess the situation of children and women.

Today, the MICS continues to be the main source of data under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to measure the SDGs. In Kazakhstan, these MICS allow the Government of the country to set benchmarks, define goals and monitor progress in meeting its national and international commitments, including the SDGs, as well as national strategic plans and programs.

The new, 7th round of the MICS is a unique opportunity for Kazakhstan to strengthen existing data for strategic planning and budgeting, to provide reliable, disaggregated and comprehensive data on the situation of children and the population as a whole, as well as in the areas of health, nutrition, education, water quality and sanitation, household energy use, children's development in early life, reproductive health, functional features of the development of adults and children, the participation of parents in the cognitive activity of children, fundamental skills and abilities, necessary in studies.

The purpose of the MICS in Kazakhstan in 2023-2025 is to obtain reliable and unique information on all key indicators of the development and situation of children and families for systematic monitoring of the level of well-being of children and improving the effectiveness of the national policy in the field of protection of the rights of children and women.The Multi-Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is an international household survey program developed by UNICEF.
