Brief description:
The ratio of the volume of recycled and reused waste to the total volume of generated waste in the country as a whole, by type of economic activity (industrial and municipal waste) and by harmful effects (hazardous waste).
Methodology:
The indicator is formed in accordance with the "Methodology for the formation of environmental statistics indicators" approved by Order No. 223 of the Acting Chairman of the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2015.
The Ministry of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the responsible state body for generating data on the formation of all wastes. The information is generated according to the State inventory of production and consumption wastes based on the annual waste inventory report.
For municipal waste, information is generated by the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of annual state statistical observations 1-waste «Report on collection and export of municipal waste» and 2-waste «Report on waste processing (sorting), utilization and disposal (depositing)».
