Brief description:
This indicator defines trends in the number of individual species in a particular area (country, region, or designated area).
Methodology:
The indicator is formed in accordance with the "Methodology for the formation of environmental statistics indicators" approved by Order No. 223 of the Acting Chairman of the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2015.

The Committee of forestry and wildlife of the Ministry of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the responsible state body for generating data on endangered and protected species. Information is generated based on data from the red book of Kazakhstan.
Unit:
The population size is expressed as the number of adults in a given area (thousands of individuals, thousands of heads).
Goal:
This indicator allows you to assess the state of the population of individual animal species, the significance and effectiveness of national responses, i.e. actions taken to conserve national and global biodiversity.
