Brief description:
The indicator defines the volume of fresh water that is lost during transport between the point of intake and the point of use in all spheres of activity, as well as between points of use and reuse, and is expressed as the total volume of lost water, and as a percentage of losses from the total gross volume of water taken by all sectors, including the water supply industry. This indicator takes into account the causes of water loss (transport losses, leaks).
Methodology:
The indicator is formed in accordance with the "Methodology for the formation of environmental statistics indicators" approved by Order No. 223 of the Acting Chairman of the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2015.

This indicator is monitored and is based on annual statistical monitoring 1-VK «Report on the work of the enterprises which are carrying out operation of systems of water supply and (or) drainage» formed by Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan on water leakage from water supply companies, as well as on the basis of departmental statistical observation 2-TP (Vodkhoz) «On the fence, use, and disposal of water», Ministry Water resources and irrigation of Kazakhstan on water losses all water users.
Unit:
The total volume of water loss is measured in millions of cubic meters. The ratio of water losses during transportation is expressed as a percentage of the total gross volume of water collected.
Goal:
This indicator allows us to determine the effectiveness of measures aimed at improving the water management system in the country.
