Brief description:
This indicator determines the number and percentage of the population connected to sewage systems, which, in turn, are connected to treatment facilities. Based on this, the number and percentage of residents connected to sewer systems without subsequent wastewater treatment can be calculated.
Methodology:
The indicator is formed in accordance with the "Methodology for the formation of environmental statistics indicators" approved by Order No. 223 of the Acting Chairman of the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 25, 2015.

The Committee for Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the responsible state body for the target indicator that characterizes the population's access to wastewater treatment.it forms information within the framework of the state program for regional development.
Unit:
The number of people connected to the wastewater collection and treatment system, expressed in millions of people; the share of the population connected to sewage systems and treatment plants in the total population, expressed as a percentage.
Goal:
The indicator measures a measure of the impact on a person's health, in a broader sense, on their quality of life.
