The average value of nominal wages in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the I quarter of 2023 amounted to 340636 tenge. The growth by the corresponding quarter of 2022 was 19.3%, in real terms, a decrease of 0.6%. The median value of wages (the central level of the salary range) was estimated in the I quarter of 2023, amounted to 225736 tenge.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022 the largest increase in average monthly wages was recorded – in construction – 34.5%, in information and communication– 30.3%, in provision of accommodation and meals – 29.2%.

A decrease in the average monthly real wages compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022 was noted in the provision of other types of services – by 8.6%.

Regionally, the largest growth was recorded in the Atyrau region – by 29.4%, the smallest growth was recorded in Batys Kazakhstan region – by 11.9%.

The ratio between the maximum and minimum values of the average monthly nominal salary among the regions in the I quarter of 2023 was 3.6 times.
