In December 2023, 179.4 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered1), compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the indicator increased by 44.5%, including buses – 24.5%, trucks 38% times and passenger cars decreased by 45.2%.

In January-December 2023, 1191.3 thousand vehicles were registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, compared to the same period last year, the number increased 1.6 times.

Thus, as of January 1, 2024, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5326.8 thousand units, of which 88% were passenger cars, 9.9% were trucks and 2.1% were buses.

According to the year of production, the fleet of Kazakhstan as of January 1, 2024 looks as follows:
over 20 years - 2 459 thousand cars

more than 10 years, but not more than 20 years - 1 265.6 thousand cars

more than 7 years, but not more than 10 years – 680.7 thousand cars

more than 3 years, but not more than 7 years – 590.8 thousand cars

no more than 3 years – 319.7 thousand cars

For 12 months of 2023, 15886 road accidents were registered, in which 22097 people were injured. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2022, the number of incidents increased by 7.1%, the number of victims increased by 2.5%.

As of January 1, 2024, 108310 insurance payments in the amount of 61.1 million tenge were made by insurance organizations for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners. 3)
