In January 2024, 146.4 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered1), compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the indicator increased by 44.1%, including buses – 15.3%, trucks 11.4% times and passenger cars decreased by 15.3%.

Thus, as of February 1, 2024, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5348.9 thousand units, of which 88.1% were passenger cars, 9.8% were trucks and 2.1% were buses.

At the same time, of the total number of registered passenger cars, the largest share (44.6%) is made up of passenger cars with an engine capacity from 1500 to 2000 cube cm, with engine capacity up to 1500 cube cm– 18.6%, with engine capacity from 2000 to 2500 cc - 17.4%, with engine capacity from 2500 to 4000 cc – 15.1%, over 4000 cc – 1.9%. The largest number of passenger cars with an engine capacity from 1500 to 2000 cc. in Almaty region – 229.0 thousand units, Almaty city – 210.7 thousand units, Astana city - 162.5 thousand units, in Karaganda region – 155.4 thousand units and East Kazakhstan region – 137.9 thousand. units. Among trucks, the largest share falls on trucks with an engine capacity of over 4000 cc (71% of the total number of registered trucks)

At the same time, compared to the same period last year, the number of passenger cars traveling by electricity increased 5.5 times, from 449 to 2472 units. The largest number of electric:

For January of 2024, 1192 road accidents were registered, in which 1694 people were injured. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2023, the number of incidents increased by 41.2%, the number of victims increased by 33%.

As of February 1, 2024, 14697 insurance payments in the amount of 5.5 million tenge were made by insurance organizations for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners.
